Żory is a city in southern Poland, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the historic region of Upper Silesia. It is situated about 25 kilometers southwest of Katowice, the regional capital, and has a population of approximately 60,000 people.
Historically, Żory has been part of many different countries and political entities over the years, including Poland, the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Habsburg Monarchy, Prussia, Germany, and finally, Poland again after World War II. As a result, the city has a diverse cultural heritage and has been influenced by various architectural styles.
Economically, Żory has a well-developed manufacturing sector, with many companies specializing in automotive parts, electronics, and construction materials. The city also has a growing service sector, including retail, hospitality, and tourism.
Twinpigs Amusement Park
TWINPIGS is the first entertainment town in Poland that refers to American classics, such as Las Vegas or Hawaii. There is also an Indian village on its premises. The 10-hectare park is divided into many themed zones, offering plenty of attractions regardless of the weather, from cinema to virtual expeditions and carousel rides.

Fire Museum
The Fire Museum in Żory is a modern museum that tells about the relationship between man and fire. Located in a flame-shaped building, the museum offers a multimedia exhibition divided into five themed zones, including interactive experiences for visitors.

Botanical Park-Piaskownia
Park Piaskownia is an area of approximately 3 ha, located in the north-eastern district of Żory – Kleszczówka. In the park there is a Forest Ecological Education Center with an interactive educational path, a collection of rocks and minerals, and equipment for physical exercise on the health path.

Sculpture composition – Silesian families
A sculptural composition by Piotr Smolarczyk depicting a Silesian family from the beginning of the 20th century is located in front of the presbytery of the parish church of St. Saints Philip and Jacob the Apostles in Żory Śródmieście. The family consists of a father, mother and two children, and the whole is completed by three pigeons and a dog, and on the wall of the building there is an inscription „FAMILY STRONG WITH GOD”.
